Job Details

This position is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the purchase of all goods and services required to manufacture products in accordance with Vernet Group Purchasing Policies. The Purchasing Manager manages all aspects of purchasing to support organizational operations efficiently and cost- effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Establishes the Purchasing organization aligned with the site’s requirements
  • Manages the Purchasing team and ensure the development of team members’ skills
  • Sets up processes and indicators compliant to IATF16949, AS9100 and Group policy
  • Defines with Management and the Group Purchasing Manager the KPI targets
  • Elaborates with Buyers the action plan to achieve these targets,
  • Identifies with Buyers supply chain risks and implement corresponding mitigation plans
  • Works closely with overseas Purchasing departments to identify best sourcing option
  • Negotiates and assists the Buyers for price negotiations
  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors
  • Measures and manages the cost, quality and delivery performance of vendors
  • Oversees supplier compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations
  • Works in close touch with technical department to cost new products,
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis in business administration, supply chain management, material management, engineering, or related field with experience in a Purchasing capacity.
  • 10 years of progressive management experience in a purchasing role in IATF16949 or ISO9001 certified companies.
  • Experience in buying and procuring technical commodities
  • Knowledge with stamping, machining, plastic injection, and rubber commodities
  • Knowledge with shipping and international trade regulations (Incoterms, Customs, HS Codes)
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of all laws and regulations relating to procurement and contracts
  • Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems required
  • Advanced knowledge is Microsoft Office, ERP & MRP systems
  • Financial acumen
