Our company is a recognized leader our space, and we are currently in search of a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for those who have a passion for strategizing, negotiating, and overseeing the acquisition of materials and services necessary for our construction projects. The role involves a high degree of interaction with various stakeholders, including suppliers, project managers, and other internal teams, making it a crucial part of our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing management, a keen understanding of make vs buy analysis, and proficiency in Power BI.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
2. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
3. Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
4. Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
5. Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
6. Assess, manage, and mitigate risks
7. Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
8. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
9. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
10. Manage and oversee the operational and administrative functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently
11. Utilize Power BI to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
12. Conduct make vs buy analysis to determine the most cost-effective and efficient way to procure necessary materials and services
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager in the construction industry
3. Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software; Power BI proficiency is a must
5. Proven history of effective supply management and negotiation skills
6. Experience with make vs buy analysis
7. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
8. Excellent negotiation and communication skills
9. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and on various projects simultaneously
10. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
11. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
