We are looking for a Contract Purchasing Specialist to join our team growing team. The Purchasing Specialist will provide procurement support to our Procurement & Contract teams. The role will place orders and ensure competitive and consistent pricing of products and services for the organization. This is a temporary 3 month Hybrid 9/80 ole with possibility of extension at the end of the 3 month term.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee all aspects of the purchasing process, from the initial request for proposal (RFP) to the final delivery of goods or services.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring that all contracts are negotiated to the best possible terms for our organization.
3. Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to track and manage all purchasing activities.
4. Collaborate with various departments, including accounting, to ensure that all financial aspects of the purchasing process are accurately recorded and managed.
5. Conduct regular audits of vendor performance, ensuring that all goods and services are delivered on time and to the required standards.
6. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to drive cost savings and improve efficiency.
7. Stay informed about industry trends and changes, using this information to inform purchasing decisions and strategies.
8. Resolve any issues or disputes with vendors in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma/GED required; Associates Degree preferred.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or accounting required
3. Strong knowledge of RFP processes, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
4. Experience with ERP systems, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience with medical specific systems.
5. Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and conditions.
6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on data and insights.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
9. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices would be an added advantage.
10. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
12. Ability to work in a hybrid role, balancing time between office and remote work.
