Job Details
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, and oversight of the project quality control plan to ensure that projects meet or exceed all stated requirements with respect to materials and workmanship. The QCM will report to the Project Executive and will work with the project team to help achieve project objectives. The QCM will also work with subcontractors, clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and outside agencies. This position is located at Albany, NY area.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Develop Quality Control Plan for submission
Review and approve submittals and work plans
Interpret Contract Drawings, Specifications, Shop Drawings and Material Submittals for contract compliance
Review RFIs and change orders; ensure installed work conforms with supplemental instructions or direction provided by authorized Owners Reps and/or the A/E.
Schedule and conduct Preparatory Meetings; complete and distribute meeting minutes
Implement the Three Phase Quality Control procedures
Document inspections and issue reports
Develop and maintain quality control logs
Inspect material deliveries for compliance with approved submittals and industry standards
Inspect for damaged or defective materials and workmanship
Reject defective work or materials and require removal or correction to be made compliant
Issue non-compliance notice for deficient materials or workmanship
Update and manage non-compliance log
Prepare and submit daily reports including all required quality control reports, inspection reports, and testing documentation
Schedule and coordinate all 3rd party testing and inspection requirements
Responsible for documenting and maintaining records relating to testing data
Responsible for selecting products for tests at specified stages in production process and test products for variety of qualities, such as performance, strength, and chemical characteristics as required
Responsible for testing and monitoring of products to ensure factors such as adhesion, hardness and strength are compliant with contract requirements
Draft punch lists, review punch list work, sign off on corrected items, and update punch lists
Minimum OSHA 10-hour certification
Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner and integrate well into the project team.
Knowledge And Experience Requirements
Must be a graduate engineer, graduate architect, or a graduate of construction management, with a minimum of 2 years construction experience on construction similar to this project, one year of which as a Quality Control Representative -OR- Must have a minimum of 10 years construction experience on construction similar to this project, one year of which as a Quality Control Representative.
Additionally, the Quality Control Manager is required to have completed the US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course. If the Quality Control Manager does not have a current certification, obtain the CQM for Contractors course certification within 30 days of award.
Professional Engineer licensed in the state of New York is preferred
Knowledge of Procore software is a plus
