Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples.
2. Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on the appropriateness of data for release.
3. Perform visual inspections of finished products.
4. Participate in internal audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
5. Analyze data and document results to ensure that records are accurate and that testing is conducted in compliance with established specifications.
6. Perform validation and performance qualification testing for new or modified manufacturing processes, systems, or equipment for production.
7. Create, populate, and maintain databases for tracking validation activities, test results, or validated systems.
8. Coordinate testing with external laboratories as required.
9. Use CEM Smart Trac system for testing and analysis.
10. Train and mentor junior staff in the principles of quality control and in the use of laboratory equipment.
11. Develop and implement quality control methodologies to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures in a large computer-based organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a quality control role, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in testing methods and standards in the food industry, including brix, pH, viscosity, acid and salt testing.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other food safety standards is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays, as required.
