Sr Quality Engineer (Will be Groomed to take over for Regional Manager)
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing process improvements. This person will be responsible for ISO Plant Certification and Implementation. This role will report to the Regional Manager and will lead continuous efforts in meeting quality, cost, and on-time delivery while assuring customer expectations and supplier quality management. This role is also responsible for supporting and maintaining the site Quality Management System to meet and maintain ISO certification.

This role is also responsible for supporting and maintaining the site Quality Management System to meet and maintain ISO certification.
Requirements:
- 5-15 years’ experience in Quality, Engineering, or Operations
- Responsible for ISO Plant Certification and Implementation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline; with a background in automotive industry and or regulatory environment preferred.
- Proven experience with PPAP and Automotive supplier related documentation.
- Ability to take responsibility for quality of all products including assembly, testing and yields. Understanding and familiar design control processes including: design history files, manufacturing processes instructions, MRB, failure analysis and corrective/preventative actions and verification testing.
- Must have participated in or have strong familiarity with ISO quality systems, certification implementation and maintaining ISO certification.
- ASQ certified Quality Engineer and or ASQ certified, Six Sigma Green Belt is beneficial.
- Proven ability with SPC – Statistical Process Control required.
- Demonstrated experience with 8D – Corrective Action methodology required.
- Surface Protective product theory, application, and development (Preferred).
- Coating of paper and film experience. (Preferred)
- Experienced in product theory, application, and development.
- Must possess demonstrated leadership and analytical abilities to facilitate rapid problem resolution in a team environment.
- Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement techniques such as Lean Enterprise, Kaizen, etc. is desirable.
- Experience working with supplier quality management is desirable.
- Excellent communication oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
Duties:
- Prepare PPAP’s for product sold into automotive industry.
- Lead ISO certification implementation.
- Lead role in maintaining ISO certification.
- Ensure engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials, and processes.
- Creation of quality documentation. Development of SOP’s meeting internal requirements and/or industry standards.
- Review of processes and/or systems to ensure conformance to standards.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Work with production manufacturing to ensure quality protocols are followed and correctly maintained.
- Implement new protocols or revise existing based on quality reviews. Ex.: Test methods etc.
- Inspection and testing of various products, components, processes against predefined standards.
- Oversee and train employees to quality standards and safety requirements.
- Analyze problems as they occur and develop improvements to resolve or overcome them.
- Train quality technicians.
- Statistical analysis of quality and manufacturing data with creation of reports, X&R charts, Pareto analysis, ANOVA Cpk etc.
- Oversee and maintain product application performance at customer sites.
- Develop procedures, standards, program updates for quality of all products produced at Company site.
- Participate in the customer complaint process and determine root cause identification for permanent 8D corrective actions.
- Participate in authorizing and recommending returns.
- Collect details regarding claims and work with sales and manufacturing in quick resolution.
- Provide training to sales and other groups within the organization.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
