Job Details
You should have / know some of the following:
Responsibilities:
Must be able to follow prescribed quality assurance procedures and methods to production planning documents, drawings, and other instructions
Performs necessary inspection of parts, sub-assemblies, details, raw stock, tools and gauges to ensure conformity to specifications and requirements.
Maintain logs of inspection activity and prepares reports.
Performs inspection of welded assemblies, parts, sub-assemblies, receiving, in-process and final products and processes, and incoming raw stock to determine conformance to 3D models, hardness, functionality, specifications, and dimensional requirements
Analysis Engineering drawings, specifications, planning instructions and other requirements as directed by process flow.
Performs inspection through visual, precision hand tools, and automated techniques through the application of such measuring devices
Inspects parts to be processed and upon completion of processing to ensure conformance to specifications and requirements.
Records inspection results on prescribed forms, inputs data to computer in support of making decisions on final disposition of parts acceptance or/and rejection.
Maintains log of scrap parts, performs calibration of acceptance equipment, performs First Article Inspection per AS9102, performs as operator and internal audit.
- 6 plus years’ experience in mechanical inspection including aerospace environment (AS9102)
- GD&T – ANSI Y14.5, coordinate measuring machine operation & programming, first article inspection – AS9102, calibration – Cal Trac Computer software ANSI Z540-1, fusion and resistance welding – D17.1 & D217.2, internal auditor training is a plus, certified visual weld inspector is a plus – AWS CWI
- Requires close hand eye coordination, high manual dexterity, must be able to read and interpret drawings (ANSI Y14.5) and planning documents
- Must be able to use inspection and measuring tools and gauges in support of conformance verification of attributes tolerance within +/-.010 typically
- Must be able to prepare inspection reports and input data into computer databases.
- Working knowledge in the programming and execution of inspection routines using automated inspection equipment such as CMM’s, optical inspection equipment and surface plate layout.
- Familiarity with Root Cause corrective Action analysis and execution focused on the elimination of the identified root cause, and the ability to work under limited supervision.
