Responsibilities
As a Permanent Quality Technician, you will be responsible for:
1. Maintaining and enhancing the quality of our products through routine checks and inspections.
2. Collaborating with the production team to ensure adherence to production standards.
3. Identifying areas for improvement and implementing quality control measures.
4. Conducting tests and inspections on wood products to ensure durability and sustainability.
5. Providing technical support to the production team to resolve quality-related issues.
6. Documenting inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works, and waste, and inputting data into quality database.
7. Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements.
8. Participating in the development and review of specifications for processes, materials, and products.
9. Assisting in the implementation of quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
10. Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Permanent Quality Technician role, candidates must possess:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality manufacturing, preferably in wood, wood products, sustainable manufacturing, production standards, or mill production.
2. A deep understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
3. Excellent mathematical abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.
4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
6. Proficiency in using various tools and equipment used in quality control processes.
7. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine inspection and testing procedures.
8. A willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments and trends.
9. A certification of quality control is a strong advantage.
