Job Details
Our client, a leading food manufacturer specializing in sauces, dips, and dressings, is seeking a highly skilled R&D Consultant for a 4-month assignment. This role is critical in driving innovation, optimizing formulations, and ensuring product commercialization excellence. The consultant will work closely with the Research & Development team to develop new products, refine existing recipes, and ensure alignment with regulatory and market demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development: Collaborate with the R&D team to create and test innovative formulations for sauces, dips, and dressings that align with market trends and consumer preferences.
Recipe Optimization: Review and refine existing product recipes to improve flavor profiles, shelf stability, texture, and overall quality.
Ingredient Sourcing: Evaluate and recommend ingredient alternatives to enhance product functionality, cost efficiency, or compliance with clean-label initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all formulations meet FDA, USDA, and other relevant food safety and labeling regulations.
Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends and competitor products to recommend new product concepts or enhancements.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of product trials, ingredient specifications, and process changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in R&D within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in sauces, dips, and dressings.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP, FSMA, and labeling requirements.
Proven track record in product development and formulation.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with emulsifiers, stabilizers, and other functional ingredients used in sauces and dressings.
Strong project management skills to meet tight deadlines.
