We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Real Estate Finance Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about real estate law and commercial real estate finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate transactions, with a particular focus on lender-side representation. You will be working with a diverse range of banking clients, including institutional lenders, and will be actively involved in various aspects of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), construction lending, and real estate capital markets. This role requires a keen understanding of loan documentation, workout and restructuring, deal structuring, and commercial real estate lending.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate transactions, with a particular focus on lender-side representation. You will be working with a diverse range of banking clients, including institutional lenders, and will be actively involved in various aspects of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), construction lending, and real estate capital markets. This role requires a keen understanding of loan documentation, workout and restructuring, deal structuring, and commercial real estate lending.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to our banking clients on all aspects of commercial real estate finance, including loan documentation, deal structuring, and workout and restructuring.
- Represent lenders in complex commercial real estate transactions, including construction lending and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).
- Develop and maintain strong, proactive client relationships, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Stay abreast of changes in real estate law and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate, up-to-date advice to clients.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to provide comprehensive legal services.
- Participate in the development of strategies for structuring transactions and managing risks.
- Draft and review various legal documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and other related documents.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on commercial real estate finance.
- Proven experience in representing lenders in commercial real estate transactions.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), construction lending, and real estate capital markets.
- Proficient in drafting and reviewing loan documentation.
- Strong understanding of workout and restructuring strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to structure deals and manage risks.
- Excellent client relationship management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
