Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file property tax appeals, including supporting evidence, at administrative and court levels
  • Analyze properties, draft briefs, and handle documentation for income-producing and owner-occupied properties, including new developments and incentive-based projects
  • Review assessment records and related documents
  • Assist with tax objection cases, including court filings and document production
  • Communicate results, updates, and recommendations to clients clearly and professionally
  • Coordinate with county representatives on hearings, scheduling, settlements, and refunds
  • Support tax incentive processes and assist with real estate tax proration matters
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and strong organizational skills while managing multiple priorities
  • Participate in continuing legal education and perform other duties as needed

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of experience filing property tax appeals with county assessor offices and property tax boards
  • Active license to practice law in Illinois
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet strict deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with sound judgment and discretion
  • Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience using Access databases preferred
  • High level of initiative and client service focus
