Job Details
We are seeking a seasoned Regional Director of Revenue Cycle with a strong focus on Patient Access operations across multiple hospital sites. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years in a director-level or higher leadership role, overseeing front-end revenue cycle functions within large, multi-facility hospital systems. This role requires hands-on expertise in hospital registration, scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, point-of-service collections, and patient experience. Prior experience working with Epic or Meditech systems is essential. Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of revenue cycle operations within the Illinois healthcare market.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all front-end revenue cycle operations across assigned hospital facilities, including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, pre-authorization, financial counseling, and upfront collections
- Lead and develop high-performing Patient Access teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards
- Establish performance benchmarks and ensure adherence to KPIs, including registration accuracy, denial prevention, POS collections, and patient satisfaction
- Partner closely with clinical leadership, finance, HIM, and centralized business offices to improve patient intake workflows and eliminate revenue leakage
- Evaluate and optimize use of Epic or Meditech systems to streamline access workflows and improve front-end data quality
- Ensure training, compliance, and standardization of procedures across all facilities in accordance with federal, state, and internal policies
- Drive performance improvement initiatives aimed at improving access, reducing denials, and enhancing the overall patient financial experience
- Monitor Illinois-specific regulatory requirements and payer trends to ensure proactive operational compliance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years in a director-level (or higher) revenue cycle leadership role, with direct oversight of patient access operations
- Proven experience in multi-hospital or health system environments
- Must have strong background in Epic or Meditech patient access modules
- Deep understanding of front-end revenue cycle workflows, denial prevention, and patient financial engagement
- Experience in Illinois healthcare systems is required
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing teams across multiple sites
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business, or related field preferred
