We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in the fast-paced and rewarding field of Medical/Surgical nursing. As a Permanent Registered Nurse in our renowned medical facility, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients in a variety of medical and surgical settings. This is a full-time position with permanent employment status, offering stability and growth opportunities within our organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care: Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit. Assess patient conditions, develop and implement nursing care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

2. Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosages and proper administration techniques. Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate interventions.

3. Monitoring and Documentation: Conduct ongoing assessments of patient conditions, vital signs, and lab results. Document all pertinent information accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain clear and concise patient records.

4. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques. Provide emotional support and address any concerns or questions to promote patient understanding and compliance.

5. Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, contribute to care planning, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

6. Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and other critical situations. Perform life-saving interventions, such as CPR, and assist with emergency procedures as required.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in Acute Care is preferred. Candidates with extensive experience in Medical/Surgical nursing will be given priority.

2. Licensure: Must possess a valid Wyoming RN License or Compact Equivalent. Candidates with additional state licenses will be highly regarded.

3. Certifications: Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association is required. ACLS Certification must be current or obtained within 90 days of hire/transfer. PALS Certification must also be current or obtained within 90 days of hire/transfer.

4. Clinical Skills: Proficient in performing a wide range of nursing procedures, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and patient assessment. Knowledge of medical/surgical nursing principles, protocols, and best practices is essential.

5. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse healthcare team and provide clear and concise patient education.

6. Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to assess patient conditions, prioritize care, and make sound clinical judgments in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.

7. Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing patient needs, departmental priorities, and organizational goals. Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
