They are looking for Operating Room RN's to join their team. An ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience (in any nursing specialty, training will be provided) and an unencumbered RN license in North Carolina.

Job Details

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow, and provide exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the OR, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the process.

Shifts:
  • Variable shift, 40 hours/week

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the operating room by sterilizing and setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, following strict infection control protocols.
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional status before, during, and after surgery, monitoring vital signs and responding promptly to any changes or complications.
  • Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the physician, ensuring accurate dosage and proper patient response.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, anticipating their needs and ensuring a sterile environment.
  • Document all nursing care provided, including patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  • Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, including pre-operative and post-operative care instructions, potential risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in surgical techniques, equipment, and nursing practices, attending conferences and workshops as required.

Qualifications:
  • Active and unencumbered RN license in North Carolina
  • 1+ years of experience in any nursing specialty, OR is preferred
  • Active BLS
