Responsibilities:

1. Providing direct patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after surgery.
2. Adhering to and enforcing strict infection control and sterilization protocols to maintain a safe and clean operating environment.
3. Assisting surgeons during operations, including the management of arterial catheters and chest tubes.
4. Implementing and maintaining safety checklists for all surgical procedures.
5. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to plan, manage, and assess patient care.
6. Educating patients and their families on preoperative and postoperative care.
7. Participating in continuous training and professional development activities to stay current with the latest advancements in perioperative nursing.

Qualifications:

1. A current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license.
2. At least 1 year of experience.
3. Proficiency in perioperative nursing, including experience with arterial catheters, chest tubes, infection control, and sterilization.
4. Current BLS and ACLS certification.
5. Thorough knowledge of AORN standards and safety checklist protocols.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
8. A commitment to patient safety and quality care.
