Job Details

Job Details / Responsibilities:

Provide pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision
Perform patient assessments and institute individualized respiratory care plans
Execute technical and diagnostic procedures including emergency response (Code Blue/White), airway management, ventilator setup and management, and aerosolized drug delivery
Manage airway support devices (BiPAP/CPAP), oxygen therapy, blood gas analysis, EKG, and chest film interpretation
Perform advanced procedures as needed such as therapeutic gas monitoring, bronchoscopy assist, PFTs, and patient transport
Ensure accurate documentation, equipment cleaning/stock, and participation in regulatory surveys (CAP/JC)
Function as Shift Leader or Team Leader when assigned while meeting OneCHRISTUS Competencies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes across hospital units

Qualifications:

Active RT or RCP License in Texas required
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by NBRC required
Current BLS certification required (additional certifications within designated grace periods)
1–3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills in fast-paced environments
Ability to work full-time with 12-hour shifts including days/nights/weekends/holidays as needed
