A bit about us:

A growing FinTech firm based in New York City is currently hiring for an experienced Senior Accountant for an immediate need to help support their lending-specific business unit. This individual will report to the firm’s Corporate Controller and will oversee the firm’s associated transactions with loan activity, debt, securitization and cash reconciliations among other duties. This position will be a remote role with preference for candidates in the Eastern time zone.

Job Details


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in corporate accounting functions, preferably in a banking, lending, or FinTech setting
  • Experience utilizing detailed accounting software systems required (NetSuite ideal)
  • Intermediate-to-advanced MS Excel proficiency required
  • Previous audit experience required along with strong GAAP compliance a plus
  • Proficiency with systems and previous automation and/or process improvement a plus
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Accomplish tasks in a timely manner and provides regular updates

Job Details

  • Record monthly debt, securitization, and loan entries.
  • Assist Loan Accounting Manager with monthly cash reconciliations.
  • Assist with the implementation of the cash reconciliation platform.
  • Participates in collaborations with the finance operation team to facilitate the completion of assigned projects and/or process improvements.
  • Assist with fair value requirements for loans and assets recognized through residual sales.
  • Oversee the preparation and completion of assigned balance sheet entity account reconciliations, validating that reconciliations comply with accounting policy, documenting controls, and maintaining ownership of resolving reconciling items.
  • Provides support to the accounting team during annual and interim audits, researching and providing support for audit requests as assigned.
  • Timely completion of the month-end close to meet company and department goals. Review financials, and address and correct issues identified.
