Job Details

Retention Coordinator- Remote
The Retention Coordinator Manager will oversee the Retention Department including Retention Coordinator Staff and provide member services to patients/ families on HIPP. This Player/Coach role requires teamwork, collaboration and managerial experience while adhering to the our mission, vision and values. This role will report to the Associate Director of State Operations as well as have line of sight to Regional Vice Presidents.

The role of the Retention Coordinator can be broken down into four main responsibilities, listed as follows:


Verifications: Verify commercial and Medicaid insurance in the Maintenance bucket as needed (for several hospitals potentially)
Patient outreach (paystubs, follow-up): Communicate with families on HIPP Medicaid program via email, text, and phone
call and build relationships to gather info better
Renewals: Work closely with families and the team to gathering docs necessary to complete renewal application
Problem solving (deductions don’t match, employer outreach, COB, random questions from families)


Skills and abilities needed for this position:
  • Excellent communication and people skills via phone, video and email to effectively educate and gather pertinent information
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolutions skills while showing patience and empathy
  • Ability to work independently (yet ask for help when needed). Teamwork is essential.
  • Outstanding time management to prioritize, organizational skills and attention to details to ensure accuracy
  • Demonstrate a positive mindset to enhance your daily interactions with patients and staff
  • Exhibit adaptability, initiative and strategic thinking to have a broader, business view
  • Insurance background and knowledge of HIPP helpful!! But not a requirement.
  • Technically savvy - also comfortable working remotely from home office, disciplined, has good Wifi access, etc.
