Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Revenue Accountant to support our growing finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and will play a key part in analyzing customer contracts, managing revenue schedules, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and experience working in industry (not a public accounting trainee). Experience with Sage Intacct is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply ASC 606 principles to review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and related journal entries.
Analyze and reconcile deferred revenue accounts and ensure alignment with contract terms.
Partner with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure contracts are properly structured from a revenue standpoint.
Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including revenue accruals and reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of financial reporting and provide revenue insights to internal stakeholders.
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline revenue recognition and reporting.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, SOX controls, and relevant accounting standards.
Leverage Sage Intacct to track, report, and reconcile revenue data effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
3+ years of revenue accounting experience in an industry setting, with strong working knowledge of ASC 606.
Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly across functions and support cross-departmental initiatives.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
