Revenue Cycle Manager
The Revenue Cycle Manager reports to the Vice President of Revenue Operations & Market Access. This role’s main goal is to maximize reimbursement for laboratory services while upholding strict ethics, compliance, and customer service standards. The manager will lead and oversee the Revenue Cycle Management team and related operations. This position focuses on the front end of the revenue cycle, including patient account management tasks such as registration, insurance verification, coordination of benefits, patient billing, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all revenue cycle functions comply with regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of ethics and customer service.
Foster a collaborative culture that supports patients, providers, payors, and employees.
Develop, implement, and maintain best practices and standard operating procedures for revenue cycle operations. Manage and coach the revenue cycle team accordingly.
Set key performance indicators to drive ongoing improvement and team development.
Manage and prioritize revenue cycle projects, monitoring their progress and success.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure complete and accurate patient demographic and insurance data.
Oversee front-end revenue cycle teams to maximize successful first-time claims submissions by addressing denial edits and missing information.
Identify and resolve issues that affect reimbursement.
Coach team members to analyze claims issues and develop compliant strategies to work with internal partners and payors on claim resolution.
Manage and improve patient billing, accounting, and collections, including compliance and vendor oversight.
Oversee patient and payor customer service call center operations.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all functions.
Provide reports and design dashboards for department leaders and executives as needed.
Lead strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the revenue cycle and across the company.
Education, Experience, and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in healthcare, business administration, accounting, or a related field.
Must be able to work onsite or travel to the Covington, KY headquarters as needed.
Minimum seven years of healthcare-related experience.
At least three years in a supervisory or management role.
Proven ability to lead teams, build culture, and manage change.
Minimum five years of healthcare revenue cycle experience; clinical laboratory revenue cycle experience preferred.
Strong skills in influencing and leading across all professional relationships, including direct reports, cross-department leaders, executives, vendors, and payors.
Experience in patient billing and customer service required; healthcare billing call center experience preferred.
Relevant certifications such as CRCE, CRCR, CPC, or similar are preferred.
