We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Safety and EHS Director to join our fast-paced Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the company's safety and environmental health systems (EHS) and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals and make a significant impact on our organization's safety culture.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental programs to meet or exceed regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and ISO.
2. Provide strategic leadership in the development of a safety culture across the organization, fostering an environment where safety is a primary concern.
3. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
4. Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about safety procedures and regulations.
5. Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on safety and environmental compliance for senior management.
7. Stay abreast of new regulations and best practices in EHS and make recommendations for their implementation.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety and environmental considerations into business operations.
9. Leverage Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
10. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with all requirements.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety leadership role within the engineering industry.
3. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification preferred.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and ISO regulations.
5. Proven experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex safety information to diverse audiences.
8. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective safety programs and drive continuous improvement.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
10. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
