Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety/Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering and/or related field highly desired.
- Excellent knowledge of OSHA regulatory standards.
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience in leading company’s safety programs
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written, verbal - Bilingual English/Spanish
- Excellent Computer skills, Microsoft programs-Excel, Word, Power Point.
Essential Job Functions
- Evaluates, creates and implements health and safety practices and procedures in accordance to Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Responsible for the continuous development and update of the companies’ Injury Illness Prevention Programs
- Conducts/coordinates Safety Training for employees.
- Inspects areas and equipment for unsafe workplace conditions, identifies potential hazards and implements corrective action.
- Develops Job Safety Analysis for new equipment.
- Develops and reviews Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitors employee compliance to Safety Laws and Policies.
- Investigates accidents/incidents and identifying hazards and prepares reports accordingly.
- Determines cause of accidents/incidents and takes corrective/preventive measures.
- Reports and processes Worker’s Compensation claims.
- Reports General Liability, Automobile and Captive claims as assigned by HR Manager or General Manager
- Company representative for worker's compensation hearings and/or OSHA related claims.
- Conduct safety inspection audits.
- Leads and represents the company in OSHA and Safety inspection audits as necessary.
