We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel on our construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage the company's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
2. Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
3. Provide safety training to all employees, subcontractors, and other relevant personnel.
4. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
5. Review plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to ensure they meet safety requirements.
6. Work closely with project management teams to integrate safety measures into all phases of construction projects.
7. Create and maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety meeting minutes.
8. Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in safety management and communicate relevant changes to the team.
9. Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety requirements.
10. Develop and implement emergency response procedures and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry best practices.
4. Strong experience with hazard recognition, risk management, and policy implementation.
5. Exceptional ability to conduct safety training and promote a culture of safety among the workforce.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
7. Proficiency in using safety management software and other relevant computer applications.
8. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification is highly desirable.
9. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
10. Physical ability to navigate construction sites and potential hazards.
