Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. As a permanent member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about safety and has a strong background in OSHA regulations and construction safety.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement safety programs: You will be responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices. This includes conducting risk assessments, developing safety policies and procedures, and providing training to employees.

2. Conduct safety inspections: You will regularly inspect work areas, equipment, and machinery to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. You will work closely with project managers and supervisors to address any safety issues and implement corrective actions.

3. Investigate accidents and incidents: In the event of an accident or incident, you will lead investigations to determine the root cause and develop preventive measures. You will prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations for improvement.

4. Provide safety training: You will deliver safety training sessions to employees and contractors, covering topics such as fall protection, confined space entry, and proper use of personal protective equipment. You will also ensure that all employees receive OSHA-required training, such as OSHA 10 and OSHA 510.

5. Maintain safety records: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date safety records, including incident reports, training records, and safety inspection reports. You will also assist in the preparation of safety-related documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the engineering industry is required. You must have a proven track record of successfully implementing safety programs and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.

2. OSHA certifications: You must possess OSHA 10 and OSHA 510 certifications or equivalent. A strong understanding of OSHA regulations is essential to effectively perform this role.

3. Construction safety expertise: Experience in construction safety is highly preferred. You should have a thorough knowledge of construction site safety practices, including fall protection, hazard communication, and confined space entry.

4. Strong communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role. You should be able to effectively communicate safety procedures, policies, and training materials to employees at all levels of the organization.

5. Attention to detail: You must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify potential safety hazards. Your attention to detail will be crucial in conducting safety inspections and investigations.

6. Problem-solving skills: As a Safety Coordinator, you will encounter various safety challenges and incidents. Strong problem-solving skills will enable you to identify root causes, develop effective solutions, and prevent future incidents.
