Job Details

Currently seeking an experienced Controls Sales/Estimator in the Minneapolis area. This role is responsible for evaluating customer requests and bid specifications and drawings and ensuring that all required items are completed to successfully bid projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Review mechanical drawings and specifications for completeness and best practices on Plan & Spec projects
  • Review customer requirements and site for Design-Build projects.
  • Grow business by calling on potential customers.
  • Consult with vendors, subcontractors, and Kraft Mechanical staff to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
  • Analyze blueprints and construction documents to accurately prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Conduct site visits or walk throughs as required to prepare estimates
  • Request bonds when called out in bid documents
  • Assist with Marketing (Possibly participate select trade shows)
  • Manage estimating email invites and bid board
  • Keep estimating program up to date with material and labor costs
  • Submit bids and budgets by the deadline

Requirements:
  • 6+ yrs of construction estimating experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record is required
  • Proven project estimating success
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following BAS systems: Schneider Electric, Siemens, JCI, ALC, Trane, Delta Controls, Distech, Honeywell, or others
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other construction documents
  • Knowledge of different types of BAS/HVAC systems and their components
