Job Summary: The 3rd Shift Sanitation Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all sanitation operations during the third shift. This role ensures that the facility meets or exceeds all regulatory and company standards for cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sanitation within a manufacturing environment, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitation Operations Management:
Lead and manage the sanitation team during the third shift to ensure all cleaning and sanitation tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
Develop and implement sanitation procedures and protocols in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of equipment, production lines, and the facility to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Compliance and Safety:
Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), FDA, USDA, and other regulatory standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure sanitation practices meet required standards.
Address and correct any sanitation-related non-conformances promptly.
Team Leadership and Development:
Supervise, train, and mentor sanitation staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Schedule and coordinate sanitation activities, ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with Quality Assurance, Production, Maintenance, and other departments to coordinate sanitation activities and support overall operational goals.
Serve as the primary contact for third-party sanitation providers and chemical suppliers.
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization regarding sanitation issues and initiatives.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and corrective actions.
Prepare and present reports on sanitation performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum of 3-5 years of sanitation management experience in a food manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of sanitation practices, chemical usage, and safety protocols.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, and GMP standards.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work third shift hours and adapt to a flexible schedule as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with sanitation management software is a plus.
