We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the energy sector. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and GAAP.
- Prepare elimination and consolidating entries as part of the month-end close process.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to improve financial procedures and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
- Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.
- Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of financial instruments, market conditions, and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field, with at least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in the energy sector, preferably in oil and gas.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proven experience with financial statement preparation, intercompany entries, and consolidation.
- Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software.
- Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.
- Proven track record of leading projects/process improvement within operations/finance functions; able to drive projects from inception to completion.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required.
