Job Details
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing cost accounting functions, analyzing manufacturing costs, and supporting financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis. Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and maintain cost accounting systems, including standard cost updates, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare detailed reports on material, labor, and overhead variances
Partner with operations and supply chain teams to monitor production costs and improve cost efficiencies
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs
Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct periodic physical inventory and cycle counts
Help develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Collaborate in preparing audit schedules and respond to inquiries from external auditors
Provide financial insight and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems; experience with Deltek Costpoint is highly desirable but not mandatory
Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with large datasets
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
