As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Senior Accountant to help strengthen our accounting operations and support organizational excellence.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions across multiple healthcare entities. This individual will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and driving process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy throughout the accounting function.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical accounting skills, experience in multi-entity environments, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting
Lead and execute month-end and year-end close activities for multiple entities.
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
General Accounting
Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
Support fixed asset accounting, prepaid expenses, and other key accounting areas.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
Develop and implement standardized procedures across multiple entities.
Partner with operational leaders to streamline workflows and improve financial visibility.
Support system enhancements and accounting automation initiatives.
Audit & Compliance
Assist with annual audits and preparation of supporting schedules.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and healthcare industry requirements.
Support grant reporting, regulatory reporting, and other compliance-related activities as needed.
Collaboration
Work closely with finance, operations, and leadership teams across the organization.
Provide accounting guidance and support to various healthcare entities and departments.
Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience managing month-end close processes.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or multi-entity organizations.
CPA designation or CPA-track preferred.
Experience with ERP implementations, process improvement initiatives, or system optimization.
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, grants, and fund accounting.
