We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant, Tax, for our Manufacturing division. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a thriving industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax accounting, including GAAP, General Ledger, month-end closing, Corporate Tax, and local tax compliance.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and maintain all tax-related entries in the General Ledger, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
2. Perform month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
3. Manage the preparation and filing of all corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
4. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations for tax audits.
5. Analyze current and deferred tax provision, ensuring that all tax balances are accurately reported in accordance with GAAP.
6. Identify tax risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
7. Keep abreast of tax law changes, ensuring that the company's tax strategies and policies are updated accordingly.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow.
9. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
4. Proficiency in GAAP, General Ledger, month-end closing, Corporate Tax, and local tax compliance.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve tax-related issues in a timely manner.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax information to non-tax professionals.
8. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a positive, can-do attitude.
