We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the Environmental Services industry. This is a permanent position that offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to enhance and grow your career within a highly respected organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our financial department, bringing their expertise in Accounting, General Ledger, Internal Controls, Reconciliations, SEC Reporting, Audit, Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting, Budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, you will:

1. Maintain and control the General Ledger accounts and business transactions, applying GAAP along with thorough review and analytical procedures.
2. Conduct complex accounting activities and financial analyses to ensure the company’s books are accurate and compliant with laws and regulations.
3. Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
4. Coordinate the preparation of SEC filings and manage the internal and external review for these documents.
5. Develop and implement effective internal controls to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements.
6. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits.
7. Coordinate with the budget and forecast team to align financial reports and ensure accurate forecasting.
8. Support month-end and year-end close process ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
9. Collaborate with the financial management team to enhance and better understand company financials.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the Engineering industry.
3. Solid understanding and experience with Accounting, General Ledger, Internal Controls, Reconciliations, SEC Reporting, Audit, Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting.
4. Previous experience with Big 4 is highly desirable.
5. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
10. Experience with accounting software and databases.
