We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This is a permanent role where you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll, project management, forecasting, business strategy, preparing financial statements, and month-end reconciliations. This position requires a deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles and the ability to prepare budgets, forecasts, tax planning, and compliance reports. The successful candidate will also be tasked with managing cash flow, reconciling GL, and bank statements.

Job Details



Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting department including payroll, project accounting, and GAAP accounting.
2. Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Conduct month-end and year-end close process.
4. Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets.
5. Coordinate tax planning and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
6. Monitor and manage cash flow on a regular basis.
7. Reconcile general ledger and bank statements.
8. Work heavily in the general ledger, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
9. Prepare and present financial reports to management, stakeholders, and external auditors.
10. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the company.
11. Implement and maintain advanced Excel functions such as v-look ups and pivot tables.
12. Work with AIA contracts and Netsuite.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures.
4. Experience with financial forecasting and risk analysis.
5. Experience with payroll, project management, and business strategy.
6. Proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as v-look ups and pivot tables.
7. Experience with AIA contracts and Netsuite.
8. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
12. Commercial Construction Experience is preferred.
