Qualifications
Must be familiar with generally accepted accounting principles and regulations governing rural telephone companies
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other business software
Strong interpersonal skills with the propensity to successfully foster new and maintain long-standing business relationships
Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
Ability to multitask, prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner
Outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment, and the ability to make important decisions under pressure
Expert problem solver, analytical thinker, and decision maker
Possess strong business acumen
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, accounting, or related field
2+ years’ experience at the accountant level
Outstanding organizational skills
Responsibilities
This position will work closely with the accounting team assisting with various financial transactions, which includes, but not limited to; general ledger reconciliations, month and year-end closing, and internal reporting
Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks
Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verify documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies;
Ensuring all accounting procedures, records, and reports conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP);
Assist with financial and tax audits
Oversees the revenue cycle process, as it relates to accounting, including executing a firm grip on accounts receivables;
Perform ad hoc analysis around current and future projects;
Assist in month-end close process by preparing various account reconciliations, including receivables, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals
Assist the controller with month-end close
Other duties as directed by management
