We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced Accounting + Finance industry team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, contributing to our overall financial strategy and long-term financial security. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in accrual based accounting, who is excited about the opportunity to manage financial functions including financial statements, payroll, budgeting, tax, audit, and risk management.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation required.
3. 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
4. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
6. Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; proficiency in accounting software.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members.
10. Experience with creating financial statements.
11. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
12. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
13. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
14. Must have experience in chart of accounts, account reconciliation, real estate, GAAP, outsourced accounting, public accounting, CPA, financial accounting, and accruals.
