Senior Accountant

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving our company's financial health and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role will involve a broad range of tasks including financial reporting, auditing, budgeting, and financial analysis. You will be expected to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the use of financial software, specifically NetSuite, and have a solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
• Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to management team
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations
• Prepare and file tax returns
• Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
• Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Manage all aspects of cost accounting
• Collaborate with external auditors when needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is mandatory
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role
• Prior experience in the Scientific industry is a plus
• Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is highly desirable
• Proficiency in NetSuite or equivalent financial software
• Strong understanding of accounting theory and GAAP
• Experience with SEC filings and regulations
• Highly skilled in cost accounting
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
