We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned financial professional with a background in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring our financial operations run smoothly. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger, financial accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, preparing financial statements, tax preparation, tax accounting, and conducting financial audits. This position reports directly to the Financial Controller and works closely with other members of the finance team to achieve company financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry and company standards.
2. Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
3. Manage all aspects of financial accounting and cost accounting.
4. Develop, implement and manage the company's budgeting and forecasting processes.
5. Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial statements.
6. Handle tax preparation, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
7. Conduct tax accounting activities, including tax planning and estimates.
8. Carry out financial audits, identifying areas of risk and making recommendations for improvements.
9. Collaborate with other members of the finance team and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as required.
10. Continually review and improve accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficient in financial reporting, general ledger, financial accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial statements preparation, tax preparation, tax accounting, and financial audits.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting.
7. Proficient in using advanced accounting software.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
10. High level of integrity and professionalism with a commitment to ethical practices.
