We are searching for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. This includes bank account activity, credit card transactions, sales and purchase invoices, and payroll transactions. This role requires a high level of analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
  • Generate financial reports and statements to Managers for review.
  • Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
  • Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
  • Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
  • Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
  • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
  • Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
  • Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Minimum at least 2 years of public accounting experience.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  • Experience in client bookkeeping.
  • Excellent understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Proven ability to oversee bookkeeping and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis.
  • Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments.
