Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close, and financial reporting for both the Sales and Service departments. This individual will ensure accuracy in financial data, maintain compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and support the ongoing growth of the business through insightful financial analysis and operational accounting.

Key Responsibilities
Daily / Weekly Tasks
  • Perform daily sales closeouts and record transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Reconcile and manage Sales Recap and Service Recap reports
  • Calculate and process commissions for salespeople and service writers
  • Process and reconcile credit card payments and ACH transactions
  • Apply warranty payments (checks and ACH) using ShopMonkey and QBO
  • Manage employee loans and payables, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting
  • Review and enter vendor bills, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Create and submit warranty recaps to internal stakeholders (e.g., Brent)
  • Manage warranty billing for Genesis, Keystone, Forest River, Lippert, LaSalle, Dometic, USW, and other partners
Tax & Compliance
  • File and pay sales tax in QBO for multiple locations
  • Ensure compliance with state and local sales tax filing requirements
Month-End Close
  • Perform month-end journal entries for new and used inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and adjustments
  • Reconcile accounts, including inventory and service-related balances
  • Assist in preparing internal financial statements and management reports

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a dealership, automotive, or retail environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and dealership management systems like ShopMonkey
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with commission-based pay structures
  • Familiarity with warranty billing and manufacturer reimbursement processes
  • Working knowledge of inventory and cost accounting
