We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our vibrant team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment where you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of our company. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, grant accounting, and annual budget planning. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and exposure to a broad range of accounting and financial operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and conformance with professional accounting standards and best practices.
2. Ensure a smooth and accurate month-end close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
3. Manage grant accounting, ensuring compliance with grantor regulations and requirements, and providing financial reporting as required.
4. Lead the annual budget planning process, working closely with department heads and senior management to develop and finalize budgets.
5. Analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections for senior management, board members, and external stakeholders.
6. Assist with the development and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Participate in financial audits, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring all required documentation is provided in a timely manner.
8. Provide financial guidance and advice to senior management, helping to drive strategic decision-making and business planning.
9. Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation, ensuring the company remains in compliance.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
3. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, grant accounting, and annual budget planning.
4. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
5. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve accounting and financial issues.
7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
9. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
10. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
