Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.
2. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
3. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
4. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
5. Provide recommendations for improving systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
6. Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
7. Meet financial accounting objectives.
8. Collaborate with financial team and other professionals to communicate business and financial information.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
3. A minimum of 5 years of proven accounting experience, preferably in the Engineering industry.
4. Experience with Big 4 accounting or equivalent is highly desirable.
5. Proficient in accounting software and administration, along with a strong understanding of the general ledger and reconciliation processes.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
7. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Strong organizational and leadership skills.
