We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Senior Accountant for our rapidly expanding construction company. This role has potential to grow into a supervisor/manager role over time as well! This position will play a critical role in our finance department, where you will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers, preparing and analyzing budgets, and performing general bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, has a solid understanding of GAAP, and possesses advanced Excel skills. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Senior Accountant, you will:

1. Maintain and control the general ledger and sub-ledgers to ensure accuracy and reliability of reported financial results.
2. Prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
3. Perform accounts receivable duties, including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition.
4. Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
5. Prepare and enter journal entries and account reconciliations while maintaining detailed listings of all contents.
6. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
7. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with the management team to meet company objectives.
8. Identify and implement improvements to processes and reports that enhance the company's ability to manage our business.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
4. Solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles, including GAAP.
5. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
6. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
8. Experience with accounting software and databases.
