Senior Accountant
Jersey City, NJ – Full-Time
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing residential real estate company based in Jersey City, NJ. This role will be responsible for managing property-level financials, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced with Yardi accounting software. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple residential properties
Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, and general ledger accounts
Process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as part of the monthly close
Review and maintain property budgets and forecasts
Manage CAM reconciliations, rent rolls, and tenant ledger analysis
Work closely with property managers and leadership to ensure financial accuracy
Assist with audits and year-end reporting
Utilize Yardi for all property accounting functions
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property or real estate accounting
Proficiency with Yardi is required
Strong Excel skills and comfort working in ERP/accounting systems
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or CPA track highly preferred
Experience in residential real estate or property management accounting
Familiarity with GAAP and real estate-related tax/audit processes
