Senior Accountant (tax/audit) needed for Worcester local CPA firm

1. Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations.
2. Conduct thorough tax reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state tax laws.
3. Provide tax planning and consulting services to a diverse client base within the construction and small business sectors.
4. Assist clients with IRS and state tax audits and inquiries.
5. Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to provide guidance to clients.
6. Develop strategies for clients to minimize their tax liabilities.

8. Stay updated on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
9. Provide training and mentorship to junior staff.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting with a concentration in tax.
4. Proficient in tax software and technology to streamline tax preparation and compliance.
5. Extensive experience with 990, construction, and small business tax matters.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
10. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
