We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. They will also be tasked with auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and conducting internal audits.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial operations and ensure they comply with legal regulations and company policies.
2. Manage all aspects of construction accounting, including General Ledger (GL) and Balance Sheet management.
3. Perform monthly reconciliations and assist in the month-end close process.
4. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
5. Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
6. Administer payroll and employee benefits and ensure accurate and timely processing.
7. Liaise with external auditors and manage internal audits.
8. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
9. Monitor internal controls, manage risk, and safeguard assets.
10. Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management, stakeholders, and external entities like the IRS or other regulatory bodies.
11. Develop and maintain financial analysis and reporting systems for key performance indicators.
12. Assist in budget preparation and management activities.
13. Drive process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency.
14. Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proven experience with construction accounting, GL, Balance Sheet, reconciliations, payroll, and month-end close.
4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.
5. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
6. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
7. Excellent numeracy skills with an ability to spot inaccuracies.
8. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
12. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
14. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding business operations and taxation.
