Senior Accountant

A top Venture Firm in Boston is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong background in VC, private equity or hedge fund accounting, looking to leverage their skills and knowledge in a fast-paced and challenging environment. You will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial tasks, while working closely with other team members to ensure the smooth running of our finance function. This role will require a high degree of accuracy, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and a strong commitment to team success.

Responsibilities:

1. Overseeing daily fund operations, including management company accounting and fund accounting.
2. Preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and other financial reports.
3. Ensuring compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
4. Assisting with the preparation and coordination of year-end audits and tax returns.
5. Providing financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making processes.
6. Collaborating with other finance team members to improve accounting processes and procedures.
7. Providing support on special projects as required by management.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A CPA certification.
3. A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in private equity or hedge fund accounting.
4. Previous experience in a Big 4 Assurance or Tax role.
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
