The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role will play a critical part in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, supporting the company’s financial health and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Manage and review day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial closing processes, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support budgetary decisions and financial planning.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance and prepare recommendations for improvements.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Assist with financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in accounting and finance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong background in financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience in the logistics or supply chain industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Software, accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Mcleod Experience is a Plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
