Job Details
The Senior Accountant will contribute to the overall efficient operations of the Finance department by maintaining the general ledger and month end close cycle, costings and analysis of performance. The role also comprises of handling or assisting the Controller and/or CFO in various projects within the organization. The role also requires meeting with different project managers, engineers and business partners to work on analysis on jobs and measuring the performance of these jobs.
Essential functions for this role are:
Perform Month end closing and ensure that all subledgers were closed every period
Liaise with various departments to ensure closing is planned and done accordingly
Perform Account Reconciliations as assigned by the Controller
Analysis on expenses for Material, Labour, Indirect costs, SG&A
Job and project analysis monthly
Employee inefficiency analysis and identify areas of concerns for Management
Review cycle count, full inventory count and adjustments in the system
Monitor the PO receiving with Supply Chain to ensure POs are posted on time to get accurate Financials
Work with the Director of Finance on the Revenue Recognition and % Completions on Projects monthly
Assisting the Director of Finance with Forecasting and Budgeting process and analysis required
Participate in Baseline meetings and provide information to the group for decision making on projects
Create and report KPIs agreed by Director of Finance in line with objectives for Finance
Assist in Financials preparation monthly per Standards and requirements of Management
Prepare data and reports for Audit
Working on various projects as assigned by Management or Controller
Partner with each department, define the needs and provide adequate support for analysis and decision making
Build and Maintain variance analysis for the Financial Reporting package
Assist Director of Finance to prepare Executive Summary
Fixed Assets maintenance and registers
Prepare data needed for insurance renewals
Prepare Bank Margin report on a timely manner
Assist the Controller or CFO with the Cash Forecast, especially on milestone payments and AR
If you have the following experience, qualifications and skills, we want to hear from you!
Degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent
Costing experience and 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Working towards completion of the CPA designation is desirable
Demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
Demonstrate an ability to work well in a team environment
Able to work without supervision
Great attitude, willing to learn and help, cool under pressure
Able to influence and motivate employees within the business unit/s while holding them accountable to commitments
Able to deal with difficult situations in a positive manner
