We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant for our rapidly growing construction company. This role will be responsible for providing accurate, timely financial information to assist in the company's decision-making process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of job costing, property accounting, cash flow, bank reconciliation, financial statements, depreciation, monthly reporting, fixed asset accounting, ledger, and Yardi. This is a permanent role that requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all aspects of job costing, property accounting, and cash flow analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
2. Conducting bank reconciliations and maintaining a comprehensive and accurate record of financial transactions.
3. Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
4. Calculating and recording depreciation for fixed assets, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
5. Handling monthly reporting duties, including the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders.
6. Managing the company's general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
7. Utilizing Yardi software for property management accounting and reporting.
8. Collaborating with other departments to streamline accounting processes and procedures.
9. Assisting with year-end audit preparations and tax filings.
10. Providing guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, the candidate must have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in job costing, property accounting, cash flow analysis, bank reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and depreciation.
4. Extensive experience with monthly reporting, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger management.
5. Experience with Yardi software is a must.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial personnel.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
