A nationally recognized nonprofit organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, audit preparation, and compliance. Job Details
Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Manage daily accounting transactions, including AP, AR, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
- Support payroll processing and related reporting
- Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare audit documentation and support annual audit processes
- Assist with tax filings, payroll reporting, and nonprofit compliance requirements
- Partner with leadership and internal teams to ensure accurate, timely financial information
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience
- Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- CPA preferred, not required
- Strong QuickBooks experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Interest in working in a nonprofit, mission-driven environment
