We are currently seeking a dynamic, motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Mortgage Industry team. This is a permanent, full-time position with a hybrid work model, offering the flexibility of combining remote work with on-site office collaboration. We offer a competitive salary, paid overtime, and a bonus structure. You will be part of a fast-paced environment that requires a high degree of urgency in completing tasks and assignments. Our ideal candidate is a leader, problem solver, and excellent communicator with at least 5 years of experience in the field.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Critically reviewing and preparing more complex individual, fiduciary, partnership, not-for-profit, and corporate tax returns.
2. Conducting engagement planning, process and controls testing, analytical reviews, and accounting research.
3. Effectively researching and explaining technical issues to staff, and motivating them to build their technical skills.
4. Embracing and encouraging ongoing change and improvement, empowering staff at all levels to provide feedback and to personally make changes.
5. Demonstrating leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, specifically in the mortgage industry.
2. At least 2 years of tax or audit experience.
3. A strong understanding of accounting principles and tax codes.
4. The ability to work towards or have already met the 150-semester unit requirement for CPA licensure, either under current or grandfathered standards. A CPA license is a plus.
5. Exceptional problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of urgency in completing tasks and assignments.
7. The capacity to embrace and encourage ongoing change and improvement, and empower staff at all levels to provide feedback and to personally make changes.
